Diving at Taveuni, one of the islands of Fiji

Fiji consists of more than 300 islands of which over a 100 are inhabited. The largest are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Water temperatures are between 22 and 26 degrees and with a visibility of over 30 meters; this is one of the best diving locations in the world. June to October is the best time to go here. Then the water is at its warmest and the visibility at its best. February and March bring a lot of rain and some tour operators shut down during these months. The water is warm, calm and full of plankton in April and May causing the visibility to drop. But this is also the time large plankton eaters come here to feed.

The regions in Fiji can be separated in North, West and Central. They all offer fantastic dives, each slightly different. The North is known as the best place in the world to observe soft coral. Dive trainings and tour operators make the center region a hot spot for beginning divers. And the West is known for its wall dives. In general dive sites can be found anywhere at Fiji and nothing will stop you from having the best diving holiday of your life.
